Head of Sales

Job Description
Ascom (US) Inc. is seeking a Head of Sales to join our growing team. The Head of Sales will develop and implement sales strategy for the business unit to achieve the organization's short and long-term sales goals.Purpose

Develop and implement and sales strategy for the local company/business unit to achieve the organization's short and long-term sales goals, with an overall net revenue exceeding 50m USD. Please note that associated organization type should be Division.


[1] To lead the sales function in a Country/Segment/Area so that the incoming orders and profitability targets are achieved. 
[2] To manage the development of the sales force to become the most professional and proficient sales representatives in our market place 
[3] Ensure that the right resources with correct competences are available for developing new but also for maintaining current customers. 
[4] Ensure adherence to global and Divisional Directives and guidelines, tools and processes.  

Main Tasks
  • Ensure incoming order and margins according to budget
  • Analyse the marketplace to identify new market segments, customer opportunities or challenges for company solutions.
  • Responds to marketplace challenges with appropriate staff and partners
  • Successfully forecast market share for solutions and services by understanding annual available market and structured Go to Market plans
  • Maintain key customer/account relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding the company customer base.  
  • Exemplify the Ascom sales process and lead the way by following corporate guidelines.
  • Managing and growing your team by providing solution and strategic training, coaching and mentoring
  • Communicating Ascom solution position opportunities and challenges to Senior Executives in a strategic message
  • Play a central role in representing the company in high profile marketing events
  • Assures integration with rest of the organization
  • Serves as a member of the Senior Executive Team for the regional 
  • Be the regional owner of the company’s Sales Excellent Program and apply/execute the coaching activities as agreed upon
  • To share best practices with other global sales colleagues 
  • Be the owner of the global Sales Processes
  • Ownership that assure International opportunities reach out to HQ and/or applicable other Regions
  • Liaison with Marketing
  • Setting sales targets
  • Pipeline management
  • Financial reporting and ensure CRM compliance

  • University degree level education
  • 10 years plus substantial experience at the senior executive leadership level, preferably in a comparable industry. 
  • Proven Sales Management experience in B2B business 
  • Proven experience in operating as part of  a regional executive leadership team that places high emphasis on collaborative decision making, and fostering a high degree of coordination between functions 
  • Knowledge of the communication and / or workflow sector and the ability to understand technical system configuration across different market segments.
  • Strong experience with and knowledge of Ascom marketplace and associated policies and directives.
  • Experience with solution sales, especially proven track record of own sales execution, direct and indirect.
  • Track record of high-value target achievement, complex sales, specifically solution sales.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships
  • Able to build strong relationships across client base at all levels
  • Experience with developing growth and profitability strategy in sales teams that can be converted into a clear action plan.
