Job Description
Ascom (US) Inc. is seeking an Implementation Engineer I to join our growing team. The Implementation Engineer I will provide pre-configuration, remote configuration and support (pre go live), and implement wireless integration solutions for our Ascom products.


The Implementation Engineer I will provide pre-configuration, remote configuration and support (pre go live), and implement wireless integration solutions using Ascom products. This individual will provide technical leadership and hands-on configuration in the Ascom configuration lab and/or at a customer site to install and integrate Ascom products with premise equipment (such as PBX, nurse call, patient monitoring, PLC’s, alarm monitoring, information monitoring and wireless communications). This position is expected to be onsite at customer locations installing Ascom products and working through installation, integration, and configuration issues.  The person filling this position will be trained on Ascom products, integrations with other vendors, and any other technical or non-technical skills required to be successful.  
  • Associates degree or 3 years’ experience working with IT, telecom or wireless technology 
  • Successful completion of the following courses once onboard: IP-DECT Basic; IP-DECT Advanced; UNITE Basic; UNITE Advanced; FreeNET Basic; FreeNET Advanced 
  • 802.11  
  • Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems 
  • TCP/IP Networking 
  • Wireless Networking 
  • Microsoft Office products 
  • IT/Technical Troubleshooting 
  • Telecommunications administration 
  • IT and TCP/IP administration 
  • Verbal communications (Speaks fluent English presents well) 
  • Written communications (able to efficiently compose formal communication documents) 
  • PC Skills (Microsoft office) 
  • Problem solving  
  • 3 years experience with server hardware and/or Microsoft Windows Server O/S 
  • 3 years experience with telecommunications, IT and 802.11 
  • 2 years experience with Desktop Operating systems 
  • 2 years experience with basic IP routing 
  • 2 years experience SQL server and SQL database implementation and maintenance Responsibilities  Carry out Ascom Professional services including pre-configuration of systems, remote configuration, remote support of Ascom Implementation Engineers, installation, commissioning and analysis of Ascom products and solutions 
  • Support the company’s objectives as outlined in both mission statements and the yearly compensation plan with efficient practices 
  • Technical leadership for Ascom products and solutions 
  • Become an Expert with Ascom technology and integration techniques 
  • Interface with customers and peers to collect information needed to perform professional services 
  • Establish and maintain proficient knowledge of all Ascom products with successful completion of Ascom technical training classes 
  • Use the Ascom US Service Management system to establish customer configuration data after the installation. 
  • Provide input for documents and processes to communicate procedures to improve support efforts 
  • Establish and maintain good knowledge of networking, wireless networking, and associated technology 
  • Provide input (framework or updates) for integration application notes 
  • Incorporate quality and continuous improvement as part of overall job performance; adhering to Ascom’s QMS policies and procedures 
  • Travel time up to 70%. 
  • Other duties as assigned
