Event Description:

The Rise of the Intrapreneur

Many of us possess the skills necessary to be an entrepreneur yet are not prepared or willing to assume the risks of organizing and operating a business. This often can leave employees’ passion, tenacity and innovation untapped. But what if you were able to harness and utilize these skills at your current organization by asking questions such as: What do I want to create that is going to fill a white space? Or, what doesn't currently exist that would add value or solve a problem?

Enter in the intrapreneur – an employee of an organization who has the entrepreneurial vision to create something new that does not currently exist such as a new role, division, or launching a new initiative.

Join us to hear from a panel of women intrapreneur on how to take an entrepreneurial approach to business, your job, and life.

Panelists include:

  • Erin Buckman, Vice President, Change Management, Credit Suisse

  • Tara Fitzgerald, President, Clinical Development Services, Syneos Health

  • Sarah Gaskill, President, Morrisville Chamber of Commerce (Moderator)

  • Jessica Smith, Team Leader, Client Health Promotion, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina

Nonprofit Highlight: Read and Feed

Encourage a child's love of reading and bring a book to donate to Read and Feed! During the event, we will be collecting books to donate to
Read and Feed, a member nonprofit that aims to bridge the reading gap by providing children with the resources they may not have access to at home. Their hope is to help children who aren't currently reading at grade level gain confidence while providing a comfortable setting in which to learn.

Items they accept and series currently in demand (for a full list of book donation guidelines, click here):

  • Gently used Kindergarten through 5th grade reading levels

  • National Geographic Kids!

  • Step Into Reading level (k-5)

  • Magic Tree House
